India’s final group game at the T20 World Cup, against Canada this afternoon, was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
The prospects of a match were bleak beforehand with the first two games scheduled for Lauderhill called off due to inclement weather and this game suffered the same fate.
The outfield was deemed too wet due to the deluge of rain in Florida this week.
The decision was perhaps made easier by the fact the qualifying positions in Group A had already been decided with India and surprise package the United States guaranteed of a place in the Super Eight.
Canada, Pakistan and Ireland will all go home following the conclusion of the pool stage.
