Witnesses sought for Oldham road traffic collision

Witnesses who saw a road traffic collision between a motorcycle and a pedestrian in Oldham, are asked to come forward

At around 4pm on Saturday, police were called to the incident on Ripponden Road, where they found two men in a critical condition.

It was established that a motorcycle had collided with a pedestrian as he crossed the road.

The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man, the rider of the motorcycle who is in his 20s, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains.

GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
