Here’s where the Feel Good Family days out are this summer

Dates and locations for the return of this summer’s Feel Good Family Picnic have been confirmed by Rochdale Borough Council.

The free event for families promises four days of fun activities, performances, music, sports and shows for children of all ages in local parks.

Once more, visitors will be encouraged to bring a picnic for the events, which will have an Olympic values theme to coincide with the Paris games.

The Feel Good Family Picnic will be staged at:

  • Broadfield Park (Rochdale) on Tuesday, July 30
  • Limefield Playing Fields (Middleton) on Wednesday, July 31
  • Harehill Park (Littleborough) on Thursday, August 1.
  • Queen’s Park (Heywood) on Friday, August 2.

The event enjoyed a successful launch last July, with over 9,500 people attending in total.

Councillor Janet Emsley said: “The support we had for this new event was superb and planning is well underway creating another amazing line-up of free things to do in the first week of the school holidays, more magical days out in beautiful settings.”

The Feel Good Family Picnic will be staged by the council in partnership with Without Walls, a consortium of festivals and arts organisations bringing fantastic outdoor arts to people in towns and cities across England. It will be supported through the government’s Shared Prosperity Fund and Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA).

Any local artists or organisations interested in being involved, should email: FamilyPicnic@rochdale.gov.uk
