EnergyCharge-M8 Unveils New Range of EV Charger Protection Barriers

Charge-M8 Unveils New Range of EV Charger Protection Barriers

EV charging experts, Charge-M8, are thrilled to announce their latest line of EV charger protection barriers designed to shield valuable EV charging units from unintended vehicle collisions, while also complying with UK safety standards.

This innovative collection features six distinct products, including steel quad/tri post barriers, steel U barriers available in both narrow and wide dimensions, and rubber wheel stops offered in two sizes, with prices ranging from a mere £29.97 to £268.97.

Charge-M8 makes safeguarding your costly and essential EV charging installations more straightforward than ever. In addition to selling these products, they also provide an installation and securing service, ensuring that your EV charging facilities are well-protected and remain secure for the foreseeable future.

According to the BS IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition codes AG2-AG3, reinforced protection is mandated for areas with a medium or high risk of impact. The IET’s EV Charging Equipment Installation Code of Practice requires that equipment in public spaces must be shielded from impacts of at least AG2 severity, as specified in BS76741 (18th Edition). Charge-M8 advises using robust tyre stops as an initial safeguard, complemented by impact barriers as a secondary measure for instances where tyre stops are bypassed or when a vehicle’s overhang goes beyond their protective range.

Julian Smith, CEO of Charge-M8 said: “Since launching Charge-M8 impact protection range we’ve received an overwhelming response from the trade and will expand the range further throughout 2024.  The high quality of the products and speed of delivery are the two areas that have been praised in particular which is very pleasing to hear.
The product range came into existence when we were trying to source a consistent supply of impact barriers and tyre stops at an acceptable cost. After numerous cancelled orders, mostly due to incorrect stock availability it seemed like the obvious thing to do was to source our own range and as well as using these for our own projects, offer the range to the wider EV installer network. We’re pleased to be able to help and give peace of mind that their assets are well protected.”

Although designed with EV safeguarding in mind, these barriers are versatile enough for a wide array of applications, such as delineating areas or establishing safety zones, making them ideal for warehouses, storage areas, manufacturing sites, and parking lots.

For immediate dispatch, the product range can be ordered directly online. Installers interested in bulk purchase discounts are encouraged to get in touch with Charge-M8’s Technical Experts, who can assist with identifying specific needs. Simply call us or fill out the enquiry form on our Charge-M8 website, and we will reach out to you.
