Police ask for information following threats in Arndale Centre

A group of men threatened some teenage boys to hand over their mobiles in the Arndale Centre.

Police received the report at around 6.15pm yesterday.

From initial enquiries, it is believed that four men approached a group of four teenage boys and threatened them with violence before instructing them to hand over their mobile phones, along with two bottles of cologne.

No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made yet. Investigating officers are now asking for the public’s assistance.

DC Dahill-Rowan said: “We have now reached a stage in our investigation where we are looking to identify and speak to the men in the CCTV images (pictured) as we believe they could assist with enquiries.

“Thankfully, no one was injured, but it has understandably left the victims shaken and will cause concern in the community.

“Anyone with information should contact officers via 0161 856 6164 log 2331 7/1/2024 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
