Elsewhere, Premier League leaders Arsenal take on Porto and will also fancy their chances of reaching the quarter-finals.
The format in which group winners play second-placed finishers meant most of the big boys were kept apart with arguably the pick of the ties seeing Italian champions Napoli taking on struggling Barcelona.
Another spicy clash sees Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone take on one of his former clubs, Inter.
