Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia will not play until the new year after suffering a setback from a knee operation.
The Netherlands full-back went under the knife over the summer and was initially expected back in 2023. But the club announced today he required further surgery and will not play until January at the earliest.

A United update read: “Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia is on course to return to action early next year, as he recovers from a knee injury.
“The Dutch left-back has not played so far this season, following an operation over the summer.
“Unfortunately, he suffered a setback during his rehabilitation, which required further surgery.
“This has been successfully completed and Malacia is now back at Carrington and working hard to be fit early in the new year.”
Malacia signed for United in 2022 from Feyenoord and has made 39 appearances for Erik ten Hag’s men.
