Chris told Bossip: “It hurts, lady! It hurts because usually we’d be writing and producing on the show and the fact that we’re going to have to go watch this concert it’s still exciting because Jesse Collins and Janee and Dionn Harmon and even Stephen Hill who invented this, put together a great show. It’s going to be a great concert but my jokes will be missing this year.

GloRilla follows behind with six nominations as she’s been nominated for best female hip-hop artist, best new artist, album of the year with her EP “Anyways, Life’s Great” and video of the year for “Tomorrow 2″ with Cardi B. She’s also a double nominee for best collaboration with “Tomorrow 2″ and “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” with Hitkidd.

Viewers are frantically trying to figure out the host of the BET Awards, but the network has not yet announced who will be hosting. We’ll update this story as soon as the host name leaks, or it is announced on the broadcast. Actor Taraji P. Henson has hosted the awards show over the last two years, but it looks like the company wanted to make a big splash, and is withholding the name of this year’s host as a surprise to viewers.

Dubbed culture’s biggest night, the awards show celebrates 50 years of hip hop, and honors music artists, actors, athletes and more for their work, achievements and cultural impact — and unleashes its first wave of performers, uniting old school and new school with a non-stop hip hop party.

They include 69 Boyz, Big Daddy Kane, Chief Keef, DJ Unk, E-40, Fast Life Yungstaz & Easton (F.L.Y.), Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Kid ‘N Play, MC Lyte, Percy “Master P” Miller, Remy Ma, Soulja Boy, The Sugarhill Gang, Trick Daddy, Trina, Tyga, Uncle Luke, Warren G, Ying Yang Twins and Yo-Yo as well as award nominees Coco Jones and GloRilla.

The 2023 BET Awards are here! The most beloved and revered Black celebrities in the world will show up on the red carpet in their best fits (whether we agree with them or not). Singers, actors, rappers, and directors. They’re all here!
