The qualifiers will begin on June 20 and continue through June 23. The final day of competition will take place on June 23. There will only be one session each day, and it will begin at two o’clock in the afternoon Eastern Standard Time (EST).

The accreditation process, weigh-ins, and official draw & technical meeting are scheduled to occur at the INS located at 4141 Pierre-de Coubertin Ave, Montreal, Quebec H1V 3N7.
Santiago had been awarded hosting rights for the 1975 and 1987 Pan American Games but withdrew both times due to financial and political issues. Santiago bid for the 2019 Pan American Games but lost in the first round of voting to Lima, Peru. Santiago hosted the 1986 and 2014 South American Games.

This will be the first time that the Pan American Games will take place in Chile. Santiago was unanimously confirmed as the host city on November 4, 2017 after being the lone remaining bidder following the withdrawal of Buenos Aires, which was already scheduled to host the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games.
