Preview: The elite vs. Blackpool combat club

In what is perhaps the most chaotic match type in wrestling, an Anarchy in the Arena bout, the two greatest stables in AEW will settle the score on Sunday. Since reuniting, Omega and The Young Bucks have recently engaged in competition with the Blackpool Combat Club.

When Bryan Danielson reappeared and singled out The Cleaner, the BCC’s tendency toward being a heel became obvious.

Former AEW tag champions Omega and Page split up and eventually got into a rivalry, but on Sunday they’ll team up to annihilate a shared foe. Don Callis abandoned Omega and the Bucks, but when Page allied with them once more in an effort to overthrow the BCC, they gained a new ally in the form of an old acquaintance.

Anarchy in the Arena made its debut last year and ended up being one of AEW’s most entertaining matches of 2022. This year’s match has a possibility to be even better because there is so much elite talent engaged.

The “Four Pillars” — MJF, Darby Allin, “Jungle Boy” and Sammy Guevara — were given the nickname since they have all received the most attention and experienced the greatest success in AEW. MJF will defend his AEW world championship against three of the other biggest “homegrown” stars in the promotion for just the third time in his reign.

Allin, Perry, and Guevara will have the biggest opportunities of their careers to establish their legitimacy as contenders for the main event despite the fact that none of the others have come close to matching MJF’s star power. Since all four contestants are capable of entering the ring, the match is expected to feature uninterrupted action and possibly some maneuvers and sequences that are not typically seen in wrestling contests.

Also, MJF has consistently been must-see television during his title reign, and there is every reason to expect that he will make sure the Four Pillars match is a success.

Preview: Chris jericho vs. Adam Cole

Adam Cole hasn’t competed on a pay-per-view in almost a year, but on Sunday at Double or Nothing, that will all change.

The supporters have been so supportive of him since his comeback that it was necessary to do a face turn. He missed several months due to a concussion sustained last summer, but he has sworn to be better than before.

As the veteran has been one of AEW’s top heels for almost his entire time with the company, Jericho was immediately a logical opponent for his first significant bout return.

In recent weeks, Jericho and his Jericho Appreciation Society have made an effort to make Cole’s life miserable. The animosity has become so intensely personal that their meeting at Double or Nothing was declared an unofficial match, meaning anything goes.

Since Cole has a history of success in extreme settings dating back to his stint in ROH and WWE NXT, he should have no trouble providing the kind of match that fans are eager to see.

Sunday’s battle will be crucial in terms of establishing Cole as a top-tier talent because AEW appears to be positioning him as a top babyface and potential rival to MJF.
