Matthew Singleton lands high profile role

Since joining Manchester firm Throgmorton Capital Management earlier this year, investment director Matthew Singleton has seen his profile boosted locally and nationally.

Singleton, who specialises in financial planning and wealth management, has started to establish a reputation as an expert media commentator, fielding enquiries from publishers including the BBC.

In February this year, Mr. Singleton was invited to publish a feature article on influential tech website techround.co.uk, where he distilled the complexities of the Gamestop ‘short squeeze’ episode, warned against cryptocurrency scams and explained how Bitcoin investing can be fraught with hidden risks.

Singleton, who was previously CIO at Manchester firm Daintree Wealth Management and before that worked on the trading desk James Brearley & Sons, isn’t new to media limelight.

In previous roles, his expertise was sought by The Guardian, The Independent and The Express, as he established himself as an expert commentator in the areas of personal finance, wealth management and financial planning.

Speaking at the time of his appointment, Throgmorton director Alasdair McWilliams said: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Matthew Singleton as an investment director at Throgmorton.

“He brings with him a long and enviable track record as a portfolio manager and will be responsible for overseeing the development of the firm’s bespoke portfolio service.”

“Matthew’s appointment also adds further talent to the already deep bench overseeing the firm’s managed portfolio service.”

On his new role, Singleton said: “I’m delighted to join Throgmorton Capital Management and look forward to working with Alasdair and the rest of the team to further develop their service offering and the continued growth of the business.”
