IT & Telecoms provider facilitates safe and effective homeworking

A Bolton business has played a key role in assisting customers across the North West and beyond to ensure that their organisations thrive throughout the pandemic, after achieving a prestigious cyber security accreditation.
As the new restrictions have drastically changed the way we work, IT and Telecoms provider Digicomm 360, based on Halliwell Road, has been busy helping businesses with the transition to homeworking – something many organisations are simply not geared up to do.

As we enter Cyber Security Awareness month, Managing Director Mark Pollitt explains more:
“The Covid-19 pandemic sparked a huge IT and telecoms challenge when businesses were first instructed to close their offices back in March – ensuring that employees could carry on working from home.

“It wasn’t just a case of sending staff home with a laptop and a mobile, as there is much more that needs to be taken in to consideration. We have been offering a range of IT and telecom products that enable employees to work together on their preferred platforms – without compromising the business they work for”.
Cyber security risks have gone up by 50% over the lockdown period, as hackers have launched a wave of cyber attacks to exploit homeworkers, as the pandemic forced people to use often unfamiliar computer systems.

If not carried out correctly, homeworking can subject businesses to vulnerabilities which are can leave them wide open to both cyber attacks, security risks and data protection breaches. Over the past six months, Digicomm has heavily invested in achieving the Cyber Essentials Plus certification and been awarded trusted partner status. This government-backed GCHQ certification means that the business is perfectly placed to guard customers from the most common cyber threats and reduce their risk by up to 80%.

Digicomm 360 helps businesses communicate by providing the best outsourced telecoms and IT solutions based in the North West and delivering across the UK. With over 100 years collective expertise, backed up with experience and award wins, the business fully understands how effective communications can help an organisation thrive. Clients include Bolton Arena, Age UK Salford and People Matters HR.
As the virus continuous and workers have once again been instructed to work from home if they can, Digicomm have reported an influx of enquiries from businesses who want to improve their homeworking offering.

“Businesses were caught out during the last lockdown – and they are keen to ensure that it doesn’t happen again.
“At Digicomm, we work as an extension of our client’s businesses, and it’s our role to not only ensure that that can operate effectively during these difficult times – but that they continue to grow and thrive”.

“Put simply, we free our customers of the pressure of understanding IT and telecoms, leaving them confident in the knowledge that their essential systems function just as they need them to – which is more important now than ever.”
