Harper James Solicitors appoints financial expert to Manchester office

Commercial law firm Harper James Solicitors has announced the expansion of its national team with the appointment of a Financial Services Solicitor, further bolstering the firm’s specialist offering to clients.

Formerly at global law firm, DLA Piper, John Pauley joins the firm’s growing team and brings with him extensive experience in the financial services industry, particularly consumer credit, payment services, E-money, crypto-currencies, initial coin offerings, data protection and money laundering legislation.

Prior to embarking on a legal career, John worked in financial services for over a decade, performing a range of roles including project, compliance and risk management at MBNA Bank during which he instructed and worked with external and internal legal counsel.

Commenting on John’s appointment, Founder & CEO of Harper James, Toby Harper said: “Bringing John onboard is a great step forward for Harper James as we can now add financial services legal advice to our growing portfolio.

“Many of the clients we currently work with are high-growth, innovative companies and John’s experience in advising and assisting firms applying for financial services authorisation as well as negotiating commercial agreements will certainly bolster our service provision.”
