JD Outdoors reinvents the ‘country’ ramble for BBC Children in Need

Bury-based, JD Outdoors is urging the nation to put on their walking boots and take part in sponsored rambles across the country to raise money for BBC Children in Need.

More than 70 people participated in a mass ramble in Manchester City Centre, as JD Outdoors moved rambling out of the countryside and into the city.

The company, which provides a range of active and outdoor wear, has created a bespoke Countryfile Ramble Bobble Hat in aid of BBC Children in Need as part of a nationwide campaign to encourage people to organise sponsored rambles and raise money to support disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

JD Outdoors CEO, Lee Bagnall, said: “This year, we really want to change perceptions of rambling and show people that anyone can get involved, no matter where they live. Our urban ramble in Manchester on Saturday proves that city-dwellers don’t have to miss out on any of the action.”

“More than anything, the rambles offer a great opportunity for people to contribute to a very worthy cause, and we are always thrilled to be involved.

“After the success of last year where we raised £100K, we hope that people will don their Countryfile Ramble Bobble Hats and raise even more money and awareness for BBC Children in Need.”
